The mechanism of the glass transition is still unclear despite extensive theoretical and experimental efforts in the past decades. With the aid of molecular dynamics simulations, we tackle this problem based on an original perspective, aiming to establish a fundamental understanding of the mechanisms underlying the glass transition and its associated anomalous phenomena. In addition, using the fluid-particle hybrid simulation methods, we also study the rheological properties and structural formations of active matter and granular suspensions with a focus on the role of hydrodynamic interactions.
